Should I create a new job template or edit a job template?
Job templates determine the services you score during an inspection. If you need to create a new job template or update an existing one, there are a few different paths depending on what you’re trying to accomplish.
If you want to build a template completely from scratch, the best place to start is the import process. The Importing job templates article will walk you through how to create and upload a new template.
If you want to use an existing job template as your starting point for a brand new job template and make only minor changes, use the website tools instead. The Create a job template article explains how to copy an existing template structure and adjust it for your needs.
If you only need to update a job template that is already in use, and you do not want to create a separate new template, follow the Editing a job template article. Be aware that editing a job template will affect all locations where that template is currently in use, so this is the best option only when you want those changes applied everywhere the template is used.
